Well, I'm a whole lot lighter of pocket than this morning. Very pissed off too.
My appointment was due at 10.15. I got to the dentist at 10.10 by their clock, and there were two old bids being difficult "oh dear, I can't do an appointment before 11am, I'm not decent at that time in the morning" booking new appointments and that took 5 minutes of waiting. So then I checked in, and waited.
An elderly gentleman came in and we waited.
Another old geezer came in and the three of us waited.
The first gentleman is called in and I waited.
The second gentleman is called in and I got a bit cheesed off:
It's10:50am. So I grab all my stuff and go down to reception to complain. I've been waiting a long time for my apointment. Apparently I checked in late, at 10:25 so I'll be shuffled down the que a bit. I asked how far and she said I'd be fitted in when they can. "It's just like Kwik Fit on a saturday then" I said and she looked at me funny. So I thought I'd wait until 11.00 and then just go.
Then another 2 people arrived and then i got called in just as I got my jacket back on on my way out the door. Had my teeth and gums poked and prodded, told I should floss, and that I haven't had X-rays for 4 years, so they'll do that now.
And then he laser-heat-removed bits of my gum from about my wisdom teeth because I was stupid enought o tell him I had been having difficulties.
£175 the bill was. £175. I said I couldn't afford it, and wasn't informed of this cost when I booked my £25 check up, nor how much it would be before the dentist started to cut me up. So I've come away £75 lighter and have a payment plan to follow. Pay it completely within 6 months or they'll pull out my pearly whites.
Needless to say a complaint letter is being devised about the general crapness of the 3 receptionists. I mean, they could have told me that I would be waiting 30-40 mins and I would have gome and put more miles on my bike. I'll be completing my HSA claim form when I get home this evening, get that money back to help pay for the next bit.
